Welding Technology
Our centres of excellence at Stavanger, Kongsberg and Oslo include highly competent specialist environments within welding technology.
Our services range from training and certification of welders to testing and consultancy. In collaboration with NAV (The Norwegian Labour and Welfare Organisation) we train some 200 welders every year in Stavanger.
Welding procedures
- Advice in choice of welding parameters
- Preparation of standards and specifications for welding procedures (WPS)
- Determination of approval areas and scope of testing
- Acceptance of welding procedures
- Third party verification of welding, NDT (X-ray, ultrasonic, penetrant and magnetic particle testing)
- Preparation for and approval by WPAR and WPQ
- Destructive testing (mechanical and corrosion) is carried out in cooperation with an accredited laboratory
Welding training – welding school
- Basic training in the sheet metals and welding trades based on the further education curriculum
- The welding school has facilities for welding training, professional testing in welding, sheet metal work and industrial pipelaying, workshop training and courses in AutoCad and technical drawing
