In-service Inspectors (Operations Inspector), level 1 and 2
The NS-415-1 standard defines requirements for documented competence which may be required of personnel performing inspection of in-service equipment in accordance with an accredited inspection system. The standard defines three levels of competence.
As of 2011, many level 1 / 2 inspectors are faced with requirements for certification in accordance to NS -415-1. We are now offering complete training and certification of level 1 and 2 inspectors.
An individual certified to level 1 has demonstrated competence to perform the following actions:
- perform, document and report inspections in accordance with given procedures and instructions;
- report NDT findings;
- classify and report inspection results based on given criteria;
- take part in planned development of their own knowledge.
An individual certified at level 2 has, in addition to the requirements at level 1, demonstrated competence to perform the following tasks:
- together with NDT personnel interpret NDT reports;
- select suitable methods and techniques;
- participate in the planning of inspection programmes and routines;
- perform detailed planning of inspections;
- evaluate results based on procedures and requirements in standards and regulations;
- advise on and evaluate work performed by level 1 inspectors;
- develop working instructions for level 1 inspectors;
- participate in planned development of their own knowledge;
- participate in planned development of level 1 inspectors’ knowledge.
